ON THE SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH & EVERY

MONTH - SMACK BAND IN THE MIDDLE OF PIPER

STREET

From 8.30 there is the first whiff of smoke from the barbecue and

the chatter amongst the exhibitors gets louder. At 9.00 the crowds

start to arrive and the market is officially underway.

Apart from the ubiquitous sausage sizzle there is a fantastic array

of wines from some of the regions best known and not so well known

vignerons –pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, drought savaged

chardonnays and rieslings and many, many more are on offer – to

taste and to buy. Some of the great wines from this area are represented

- Coliban Valley, Rowanston, Barfold Estate to name a few, all make

an appearance with their notable and award winning wines.

The vegetables, locally grown, organic or heritage are all freshly

scrubbed, stacked and displayed.

Meats?  We have two stunning suppliers of pork, then there is the beef,

lamb and of course rabbit from who else but Peter Rabbit and now goat - it

is a gourmand's delight.

Fabulous baked breads from Trentham, home made jams from everywhere,

award-winning charcuterie, biscuits and cakes together with sauces and

croissants, herbs, flowers and fruit. Then there is the olive producers, the

handmade pasta and the homemade peanut butter merchant and the cheese

specialist. This is the fabulous produce of this Great Central Province on show

- all grown with love and picked when perfect.
