Monthly Farmers Market in Kyneton

Saturday 12th June

The market showcases the very best produce of this Great Central Province. It is geared to only stocking those items made or grown in the Province. Stall holders gather on the second Saturday of each and every month (except for January) from 7.00 a.m.

From 7.30 there is the first whiff of smoke from the barbecue and the chatter amongst the exhibitors gets louder. At 8.00 the crowds start to arrive and the market is officially underway.  By 10 am the Kyneton Brass Band strikes up and it is full steam ahead.

Apart from the ubiquitous sausage sizzle there are a fantastic array of wines from some of the regions best known and not so well known vignerons –pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon, drought savaged chardonnays and rieslings and many, many more are on offer – to taste and to buy.  Some of the great wines from this area are represented - O'Shea & Murphy, Grace Devlin and Rowanston all make an appearance with their award winning and notable wines.

Fabulous baked breads from Trentham, home made jams from everywhere, handmade pasta in a dazzling array of shapes and sizes together with sauces, freshly baked cakes and croissants, herbs, vegetables and fruit. There are stalls to start or embellish a garden with exotics or natives, there is even a Landcare stall to reinvigorate the native species or to give advice on managing the land.

And when it is all over there is coffee, handmade pizza, exquisite fish & chips, fine dining or just yummy shopping to be done in Piper, Mollison or High Streets.

One long, leisurely, lovely Saturday in the jewel of the Great Central Province - what better way to spend the weekend!
